OBVIUS is an Oregon corporation, headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon. The mission of OBVIUS is to be the premier building information service supplier through the web, with an initial emphasis on energy related information.

The integrated system platform consists of 2 unique, proprietary hardware components - AcquiSuite, an I/O module, and a data collection, reporting and alarming web application Building Manager Online (www.buildingmanageronline.com) :

• The I/O module recognizes the type of input (4 to 20 mA, 0 to 10 vDC), but not the exact sensor type. The parameters of the sensor are selected from a drop-down box by the installer. The I/O module allows BMO to accept non-Modbus signals from a wide variety of devices.
• The AcquiSuite recognizes the I/O inputs (i.e. temperature, pressure, humidity), automatically uploads catalogued sensor profiles to the website, and provides set-up instructions to the contractor, thereby enabling mass-market installation. Modbus devices (including the industry heralded Enercept® meters by Veris Industries ) can communicate directly with the AcquiSuite, allowing OBVIUS to inexpensively collect data from a variety of sources without the installation of the I/O module.
• Building Manager Online receives, validates and stores acquired data and displays customized building information with alarms, usage graphs, and other functionality through a standard web browser.

AcquiSuite is the only mass-market, easily deployable system currently available. It is 50% less expensive than customized solutions. The firmware embodied in the hardware makes this product easily installed by contractors. It is the only standard system that can cost-effectively integrate signals from equipment in buildings, such as the building automation system or other sensors, from several manufacturers and produce one uniform report. The targeted installed priced for the end user of the AcquiSuite hardware platform with installation is $2,000.

The Management Team of OBVIUS is headed by Mr. Jim Lewis, as Chairman and Mr. Stephen Herzog as Chief Technology Officer.

Mr. Jim Lewis was the founder and President of Veris Industries, a supplier of current and power sensing products to BAS manufacturers and building owners. Prior to founding Veris, Mr. Lewis held several positions at Honeywell including Branch Manager. He has extensive experience in knowing the needs of building owners, integrating existing metering and sensing technologies and developing innovative products for dynamic markets.

Mr. Stephen Herzog was the founder of Secure Design, a software and consulting company that specialized in Novell NetWare, Linux, and Internet connectivity. He developed several software packages including SDProxy, a Linux based embedded firewall with web browser interface, SDLPD and QView Pro, a Novell NetWare print management system. Mr. Herzog has extensive knowledge of embedded systems running the Linux operating system, Internet connectivity, and interactive database websites.
