As the growth of the
Internet for corporate and personal communications and
information continues, many companies are building data
centers, either for internal use or to provide hosting
services for other companies. For obvious reasons, one of
the key issues for data centers is the ability to ensure
that servers remain on-line and this requires that loads
on the electrical service panels be monitored to make
certain that the load on any circuit does not exceed the
breaker rating and cause the system to trip and take one
or more servers down. Using web-based data acquisition servers and ASP sites provides managers of data centers to gather valuable information on circuit loads and to receive alarms when current thresholds are exceeded, minimizing downtime for both internal and external customers. |
